Elementary Vice Principal

 

Job Responsibilities

·         Responsible for responding to parent inquiries relating to academics and behavior issues that have risen above the level of the classroom teacher

·         Minor teaching responsibilities (1-2 classes)

·         Collecting lesson plans and holding teachers accountable academically

·         Helping to coordinate and/or develop curriculum strategies for the middle and high schools

·         Coaching teachers, on-boarding new teachers, and conducting approximately 2-3 PD sessions per semester

·         Assisting in communication between teachers, parents, and administration

·         Aiding in the classroom observation process each semester

·         Conducting initial hiring processes each year to fill middle and high teaching positions: This will include posting job descriptions, collecting resumes, and conducting initial interviews of top candidates to pass on to the Principal for final interviews

·         Attending weekly meetings with members of the administration to discuss schoolwide issues

·         Any additional supportive administrative tasks that fit within the elementary purview 

Education and Experience

 

·         Master’s Degree preferred, from a Western University in either Education or another related field

·         Minimum 5 years of experience working in an elementary school setting in an academic capacity

·         Preferred 2-3 years of experience working as a school administrator or school leader
